Snowy Caverswall

The last time Gypsy was in the snow, she wasn’t sure whether she would ever feel safe and at home again. For that reason, we decided to treat her to a great snowy walk around Caverswall.

Starting in Blythe Bridge, we headed off through the snowy fields for several miles making sure that Gypsy was warm in her coat. It’s a lovely walk at all times of the year with The Red House being a lovely dog friendly pub in the heart of the village.

Croxden Abbey

Hello – Culture Dog Gypsy here!

My newmans have been taking me to some really interesting places; I’m learning so much. Today we went to Croxden Abbey in North Staffordshire for a wrapped up autumn walk and a hot drink at The Raddle Inn.

Croxden Abbey is free to visit, and there are no charges for parking, meaning extra pennies in the ‘Treat Fund’ for me. After looking around the site, we walked through the countryside to sit outside The Raddle and look down at the amazing view down to the abbey.

Car Trip

We took Gypsy on her first real car day out today – not quite sure what she thinks of it yet! Staffie ‘seal face’ suggests it may take a little getting used to.

Speedy Wecovery

Good Afternoon! Gypsy here to report on some great news. I had such a speedy wecovery from my injury that I managed to enter a dog show. It is held every year at The Windmill Pub in Stoke on Trent to raise money to help to rebuild their windmill. Although I’m not allowed inside, my newmans walk me there a lot as they like to eat lunch in the big garden (and I like to eat Dave’s chips!).

My sister entered me into the Best Rescue Dog round

…. and I won!

I can’t believe how much my life has changed in a few months! I rang my nanny who was so proud of me, and had a lovely chat with my ducky bear to tell him all about my first class day.

Whoopsie

Whoopsie! Silly Gypsy has had to take a break from day tripping as she cut her paw open. Despite the super cool pink bandage, Gyps is not a happy girl following her injury which was caused by jumping up on to the kitchen work surface and smashing a mug. Lots of cuddles and treats are being given.

Hello! Gypsy here!

I’ve really settled in with my new friends – can you spot me?

I woof my newmans who are taking great take of me, especially my big sister, J, who takes me out a lot and Dave who comes to visit me all the time.

I’ve been getting to know my new area and I’m so excited that there are lots of fields (filled with wabbits!) and a train that hopefully I’ll get to ride on! Here’s me having a well earned rest midwalk – these newmans don’t half wear me out!

Getting Healthy

When we first had Gypsy, she was awfully skinny and didn’t help herself by refusing food. After several visits to the vets, we found that she was intolerant to many foods and so was probably not eating as she constantly felt poorly. Thankfully we discovered Nature’s Menu http://www.naturesmenu.co.uk whose food she loves (especially the chicken and salmon combo!) so she soon reach a healthy weight, ready to go out and explore the world.

We first met Gypsy on a bitter January afternoon. Having been thrown out by her previous humans, she was left to wander the streets feeling hungry and confused until City Dog’s Home picked her up. We visited the dog’s home that afternoon on a whim, but as soon as we saw Gypsy we knew that we had to take her. Exhausted from the traumatic experience, she slept heavily that night ready for the new adventures with her furever humans!
